A review Professor Patricia Rankin co-authored with Dr. Donna Caccamise of the Institute of Cognitive Science at CU 麻豆影院 was just released at the Toyko GS10 Gender Summit.  provides a broad review of evidence-based research, underlying theories, and interventions related to women鈥檚 representation in the workforce.

The paper discusses the issues that contribute to creating a work culture that can drive women from the workforce, particularly from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related fields. The assertion here is that achieving a workforce fully inclusive of women, including at the leadership levels is desirable, and that this will require looking beyond laws and policies to address the biases that women face as well as practical concerns such as how to combine family life with a career. A recent by Professor Rankin highlights some of the arguments in the paper.

Have you explored the Web site for  at 麻豆影院 yet? Women in Physics (WiP) is a community of graduate and undergraduate students, post-docs, and faculty working to support the inclusion, participation, and success of women in the physics department at CU and around the world. They offer monthly lunch meetings on the last non-holiday Friday every month during the school year, as well as many resources for women in the field of physics.

In 2017, WiP and the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 will be hosting a chapter of the Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics! Check out the  Web site for more information and news!
