Bridge Buffs
CU Bridge Buffs is a chapter affiliated with Engineers in Action, an NGO focused on aiding developing communities through infrastructure projects and offering university students abroad opportunities for engineering experience. Our parent organization has involved over 1,000 students from 41 universities, constructing 100 footbridges in 12 countries. These bridges have connected nearly 150,000 previously isolated individuals to essential resources such as education, healthcare, and markets.
Our projects provide CU students with hands-on learning in bridge construction, engineering techniques, design, fundraising, marketing, and leadership, fostering a professional repertoire and personal growth through immersive experiences abroad.
Throughout the school year, we organize various social events to cultivate a sense of community and teamwork among our members. We engage in activities like the National Bridge Builder Conference, media production, grant writing, and fundraising. We believe that long-term project involvement greatly benefits students, enhancing their cultural awareness and offering valuable travel experiences during our summer abroad programs.
