From Vice Chancellor Mull: Closing out the semester
Hi Buff families,ÌýÌýÌý
With more hours of sunshine and gradually warming temperatures, it is starting to feel more like spring each day. I hope you had the chance to connect with your student over spring break, and talk about their plans to wrap up the semester and move into the summer months. Ìý
We have about three weeks until finals, and this is a great time for students to get organized and make plans to achieve their goals. Your student can visit colorado.edu/finals to find everything they need, including the final exams schedule, tips, and campus resources.ÌýÌý
There will also be events throughout the month that allow students to take breaks and connect with fellow Buffs. Please encourage your student to stop by Late Night Breakfast in the University Memorial Center (UMC) on May 2. They can celebrate the last day of class with a free, nourishing meal provided by Student Affairs staff. Our CU Student Government is also sponsoring a smash room for students to de-stress and have fun before finals begin. I will be at the event to wish our Buffs good luck on finals and I hope to see your student there!Ìý
As we wrap up the semester, I encourage you to stay in touch with your student and offer support. Be there to listen and share advice if they need some extra help this time of the year. Additionally, help your student reflect on and celebrate their achievements. Whether they are finishing their first or final year at CU Â鶹ӰԺ, your Buff has worked incredibly hard and deserves a moment of recognition. Encourage them to be proud of their accomplishments and to treat themselves!Ìý
If your student is graduating, be sure to review the spring recognition ceremonies hosted by our colleges, schools, departments and programs. The Alumni Association also partners with campus groups, the Center for Inclusion and Social Change (CISC) and alumni clubs to host several . Remind your graduate to in their affinity graduation celebration and receive a complimentary affinity stole by May 5.Ìý
I know many families will be on campus soon, between helping our Buffs move out of the residence halls and celebrating the end of another academic year. If you will be on campus, I hope you have a great time with your student and please stop and say hi if you see me around!Ìý
