Christmas French Toast

Ingredients
- 1 day old sliced French bread loafÌý
- 3 beaten eggsÌý
- 1 teaspoonÌývanillaÌý
- 2 1/4 cupsÌýmilk
Topping
- 1/2 cupÌýall purpose flour
- 6 tablespoonÌýbrown sugar
- 1/4 cupÌýbutter
- 1/2 teaspoonÌýcinnamonÌý
- 1 cupÌýFrozen blueberriesÌý
- 1 cup Frozen strawberriesÌý
- Or any frozen berries of your choice equaling 2 cups
Directions
- Grease 9x13 baking dish.
- In medium bowl combine, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and milk. Stir till well blended.
- Dip bread in egg mixture and place in baking dish. Cut pieces to make them fit, does not need to be perfect!
- Pour leftover egg mixture over the top. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.Ìý
- In the morning, heat oven to 375°. In small bowl combine flower, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles course crumbs.
- Sprinkle over bread.
- Bake 30 minutes covered, and 10 more uncovered.Ìý
- While that is cooking, heat the berries in a small saucepan on low to make fruit compote to serve atop baked French toast. Enjoy!
