The composition department鈥檚 Emerging Composers Project (ECP)鈥攁n initiative of our College of Music in partnership with the 麻豆影院 Philharmonic Orchestra and Skyline High School, among other area high schools鈥攕eeks to empower pre-college students of diverse backgrounds through close mentorship with CU 麻豆影院 graduate students in the field of music composition. The ECP is a 2021-2022 CU 麻豆影院 Outreach Award Recipient (CU 麻豆影院 Office for Outreach + Engagement). and congrats to Professor of Composition Carter Pann!

As part of Research + Innovation Week on campus, the 6th annual open house will share the diverse and intriguing work of the organization鈥檚 eight research labs in a power-packed, two-hour public showcase. Did you know? Assistant Professor of Music Technology Grace Leslie鈥攆lutist, electronic musician and scientist鈥攋oined the College of Music ATLAS Institute this year. As director of the ATLAS Brain-Music Lab, she aims to continue expanding this groundbreaking field of research. Leslie develops brain-music interfaces and other physiological sensor systems that reveal aspects of her internal cognitive and affective state, those left unexpressed by sound or gesture, to an audience.听
