Two #MusicBuffs among 鈥榗omposers and performers to watch鈥�: Recently, The Washington Post listed 鈥�22 composers and performers to watch in 2022.鈥� Included were two CU 麻豆影院 College of Music students: Kedrick Armstrong, a first-year master鈥檚 student in orchestral conducting and composer Anthony Green, who attended our Doctor of Musical Arts program. Be inspired by the impressive trajectory of their careers and learn how both confront issues of diversity in classical conservatory curriculum. 鈥淚t鈥檚 important for schools to dig in as innovators and leaders in preparing musicians,鈥� says Armstrong, reflecting on the College of Music鈥檚 commitment to diversity.

• Congratulations: Senior education major Sam Conner (double bass) was awarded the American String Teachers Association鈥檚 2022 Student Exemplary Service Award and DMA candidate Dilon Bryan was invited to play Fourth Horn with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra this week!
• The Diverse Musicians鈥� Alliance (DiMA) invites performers of music, dance, poetry and other forms of art to participate in 鈥淩oots and Branches鈥濃�攁n annual show featuring diverse voices and art forms鈥攐n March 31.
  Rebecca Maloy, a professor of musicology and director of the Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies, will deliver her in-person lecture 鈥淐onstructing Sanctity Through Sound in Early Medieval Iberia鈥� on March 8. Maloy is a recipient of the 2021-22 Distinguished Research Lectureship!
• Office of the President鈥檚 Annual Diversity, Equity + Inclusion (DEI) Award: Honoring individuals and units who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and made significant contributions to advance DEI within the University of Colorado community. by March 11
• Undergraduate Development Award (UDA) Application: The College of Music offers awards to undergraduates for expenses associated with presenting at professional conferences, performing at off-campus competitions, festivals, master classes and the like. Learn more + apply by April 1
