• Doctoral students Christy Go and Garrett Graves presented their paper鈥斺�淚ntersectional identities: Culturally sustaining pedagogy through the lens of Chinese-American music education鈥濃�攁t the prestigious 35th MayDay Group Colloquium 鈥淭heory and Philosophy鈥� hosted by the Department of Curriculum + Instruction, in collaboration with the School of Music, at the University of Victoria.
• Feel Good Fridays: On Sept. 6, 12:15-12:45 p.m., join Matt Tomatz鈥攅mbedded psychotherapist with our Musicians鈥� Wellness Program鈥攖o learn about a work of art and then participate in a related mindfulness practice. All are welcome to this weekly, hybrid meditation series.听
• Tea + Equity: All students, staff and faculty are invited to join members of the College of Music鈥檚 Diversity Committee for community connection鈥攖ea and cookies will be served! Sept. 11, 4-5 p.m., Grusin Lobby.
• : Buffs One Read鈥攁 community reading program for the entire CU 麻豆影院 campus鈥攊s a book by Javier Zamora and was selected for 2024-25 theme: Courage.

• Developing the universal musician at CU 麻豆影院: The summer issue of the Coloradan alumni magazine featured Dean Davis in a leadership Q&A. Get to know our dean鈥攖he experiences that shaped him, the philosophy that drives him and the purpose that inspires him.听
• In May, the CU 麻豆影院 Office for Public + Community-Engaged Scholarship on Associate Professor David Rickels鈥� Middle School Ensembles (MSE) program which is made possible in part through support from the Hoover Fund for Music Education, as well as grants from the CU 麻豆影院 Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program and the Office for Public and Community-Engaged Scholarship. The program is also supported by the CU 麻豆影院 collegiate chapter of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
• In July, Associate Professor of Music Education Kelly Parkes virtually presented her research paper鈥斺�淓valuations of music faculty in higher education: Post-pandemic sustainability鈥濃�攁t the 36th World Conference of the International Society of Music Education.
• Also in July, Associate Professor of Oboe Jim Brody鈥攆ounder and director of our Musicians鈥� Wellness Program鈥攁nd embedded psychotherapist to the College of Music Matt Tomatz presented workshops at the 42nd annual Performing Arts Medicine Association international symposium; as well as the 36th International Society for Music Education world conference.
