翱耻谤听Entrepreneurship Center for Music听recently hosted a very special evening with the Boston Public Quartet (BPQ). The event featured a student-led discussion of Diversity, Equity + Inclusion (DEI) in the chamber music world with members of BPQ, followed by a performance of works by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and other People of Color) composers Jessie Montgomery, Florence Beatrice Price and Jeraldine Herbison. College of Music students who led the discussion included (from center) pianist Jerimiah Owens, two members of our Graduate Quartet-in-Residence鈥擨valas Quartet violinists Reuben Kebede and Tiani Butts鈥攁nd pianist Elizabeth Smith.

• It鈥檚 Homecoming week! Join in collective school spirit for the听听tomorrow, Nov. 5, with performances from our Golden Buffalo Marching Band, and members of the CU Football Team and Spirit Squad.听Check out the full calendar of festivities.听
• Pedagogy in the pandemic: Students鈥櫶齨eeds have shifted dramatically during the pandemic and faculty and instructors have needed to shift in response. How can we support students鈥櫶齦earning and wellness? What works and what doesn鈥檛? How can we cultivate engagement and community in our classes?.
• We鈥檙e excited about the Museum of 麻豆影院鈥檚 exhibit looking at CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 lineage of onsite music programming and sought-out on-campus concert venues 鈥� and providing a glimpse into the College of Music鈥檚 future. Among other events and activities, on Nov. 5, Professor of Musicology Laurie Sampsel will present 鈥淎 Guided Tour of Colorado Songs,鈥� providing insight into 20 songs inspired by the Centennial State.听!

• Lleva Nuestras Voces: On Nov. 6, join our American Music Research Center听in celebrating the legacy of the Chicano Movement as it carries on in the words and music of Chicanx performers today. Colorado Poet Laureate Bobby LeFebre will present a virtual reading of his work, followed by a live, in-person performance by pop/hip-hop group 2MX2 in this free event.
• With November being National Native American Heritage Month, it鈥檚 a great time to attend events, learn about campus resources and celebrate the community around you.

• DATE CHANGE: If you registered for the听鈥攎ade possible, in part, by our Roser Visiting Artist Program鈥攖he date has been changed from Nov. 15 to Nov. 17.
