• March 5, 1 p.m. (S246): Pianist Nnenna Ogwo will present on the 鈥�24 Negro Melodies鈥� by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor including the technical and musical challenges of the work, the role of the spiritual in the social and historical fabric of America 鈥� and more. At 2 p.m. (Grusin Music Hall), Ogwo will lead a master class with College of Music piano students.听
• March 5, 7: Fifth annual Persevering Legacy event promotes diversity in performance: Join us for student performances celebrating women-identifying composers. Additionally, as part of this year鈥檚 Persevering Legacy event, alumnus Gregory Walker鈥攕on of the composer George Walker and Helen Walker-Hill, a pianist and musicologist who specialized in the music of Black women鈥攚ill present a master class on March 5, 10:50 a.m.-12:20 p.m. (C125).听

• Call for proposals: Grant funds awarded by the Public and Community-Engaged Scholarship (PACES) Committee must involve 鈥渆ngaged scholarship,鈥� connecting CU 麻豆影院 faculty-led research, creative work or teaching with community needs, interests and activities. Individual faculty applicants may request up to $11,000 for each project, and groups of 2-3 faculty members may request up to $24,000 for a single, collaborative project.
