Ensemble Flatirons鈥攖he College of Music鈥檚 amazing Graduate Brass Quintet in Residence鈥攔ecently visited seven schools from Aspen to Glenwood Springs as part of the Aspen Music Festival and School鈥檚 Musical Connections program! The quintet also performed a well-received recital at the Basalt Regional Library during their three-day residency and interacted with 500+ local K-12 students.

• Meet incoming Assistant Professor of Trombone Sterling Tanner
• Professor of Composition Carter Pann鈥檚 new album鈥斺�溾�濃�攊s a compilation of composers who studied at the University of Michigan and who鈥檝e worked with Joseph Lulloff, professor of saxophone at the Michigan State University College of Music. Pann鈥檚 25-minute Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano is the album鈥檚 largest work, juxtaposing Romantic and modern idioms, and Renaissance and Baroque forms. Congratulations!
• We鈥檙e thrilled to welcome Stefan Jackiw to the College of Music this week! On Friday, March 24, the superstar violinist will present a master class in E160, 12:15-2:15 p.m. On Saturday, Jackiw will deliver a pre-concert talk before performing Bruch鈥檚 Scottish Fantasy with the 麻豆影院 Philharmonic in Macky Auditorium.
