This fall, Claire Gunsbury officially becomes a Music Buff. The flutist from Minnesota is coming to CU Â鶹ӰԺ with help from the Sher Distinguished Musician Scholarship.

Elise Campbell and Callan Miller are already winning awards for Gigsicians, the online service that connects musicians with event planners hiring for gigs.

For two days in March 2017, flutists young and old converged on CU Â鶹ӰԺ for the Once a Flutist Festival. Including master classes with Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway, panels and recitals, the event was a reminder that if you’re once a flutist… you’re always a flutist.

As the Â鶹ӰԺ community benefits from the Artist Series' concerts, students at the College of Music enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience of seeing, learning from—even talking shop with—their idols.

In our final Faculty Tuesday recital of the season, Christina Jennings performs as part of the Once a Flutist festival in a program celebrating the diversity and community of the oldest instrument on Earth.

Nearly a year after he found out his saxophone quartet "The Mechanics" was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Music, CU composer Carter Pann is helping the College of Music's graduate quartet prepare the piece for its Colorado premiere.

The program is set for the 31st Bruce Ekstrand Memorial Graduate Student Competition at the College of Music.

Scheduled for March 21 and 22, the Once a Flutist festival invites flutists from around the region to the Â鶹ӰԺ campus for an immersion in the technique, diversity and spirit of the oldest instrument on Earth.
