On Oct. 19, horn and piano faculty will collaborate with the CU 麻豆影院 Graduate Wind Quintet and members of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in a Faculty Tuesdays program for winds, including George Walker's "Wind Set."

As part of the College of Music's long-running Faculty Tuesdays series, professional musicians, vocalists and ensembles in the college play concerts most Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters, offering students and community members the opportunity to experience firsthand the renowned talent housed right here on campus.

"Working in development is a way for me to take my combined knowledge and experience to talk to others about why it鈥檚 important to fund the arts."

Richard O鈥橬eill, the newest member of the College of Music鈥檚 string faculty, won a Grammy Award in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category for his performance of Christopher Theofanidis鈥� Concerto for Viola and Chamber Orchestra.

Among 30 distinguished academics, clinicians, consultants and authors, Jeffrey Nytch鈥攄irector of the College of Music鈥檚 Entrepreneurship Center for Music and associate professor of composition鈥攈as joined the Yamaha Master Educator Collective鈥檚 newly-launched Music Business and Entrepreneurship group.

While these are uncertain times and the future seems equally uncertain, COVID-19 has pushed us to leverage technologies in impactful ways that will surely outlast this pandemic 鈥� through distance learning, collaboration and performing, we鈥檝e risen to the challenge.

College of Music Dean John Davis sits down with us to talk about what鈥檚 on the horizon as the college begins a new year with a new dean.
