麻豆影院 horn student Maggie Rickard has landed a gig with the Sarajevo Philharmonic in Bosnia.

Trombone MM candidate Mark Hsieh just returned from a three-week stint with the New World Symphony in Miami, Fla.

Three chamber ensembles, all of differing instrumentation, have been accepted to compete with top musicians from across the country in the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. Based on audition materials and applications, the Zenobia Quintet, the Flatirons Brass Quintet and the Tesla Quartet have all been accepted into this illustrious competition.

Founded by Jennie Dorris (MMus鈥�05), Telling Stories is a concert series that draws on a cast of 100 classically trained freelance musicians and writers who want to make chamber music and literature 鈥渁 little more fun and a lot less stuffy.鈥�

n April 8, 2011, the College of Music hosted the first CU Invitational Orchestra Festival. The festival involved the participation of three orchestras from 麻豆影院 High School, and orchestras from Legacy High School, Lakewood High School and Cherry Creek High School.

Enjoy a performance of Henry Mancini鈥檚 The Days of Wine and Roses performed by Percussion Professor Douglas Walter on vibraphone with bassist Alex Sarran. The performance was recorded at the National Conservatory of Music (Conservatoire National Sup茅rieur de Musique et Danse) in Lyon, France on May 12, 2010.

Aaron Tindall (DMA tuba student) won the concerto competition at the Aspen Music Festival and performed R. Vaughn-Williams鈥� Concerto for Bass Tuba July 28th in the Benedict Music Tent at the Aspen music Festival. Before the performance he gave a live radio broadcast with Warren Deck, former principal tuba of the New York Philharmonic and John Rojack, bass trombone with the American Brass Quintet on KAJX (Aspen Public Radio).
