The inherently inspirational nature of 麻豆影院 has snagged another accomplished musician.
This fall, Dr. Jeremy Reger will join the voice department as vocal coach at the senior instructor level. He says although the natural beauty of the region was a big draw, in the end it was the passion of the students and faculty at the College of Music that led him here.
鈥淭here鈥檚 something special going on here,鈥 says Reger. 鈥淭he exceptional, creative, inspiring community created between faculty and students is palpable, and it鈥檚 very exciting to be a part of it.鈥
Reger comes to CU from Christopher Newport University in Virginia, where he鈥檚 currently the director of keyboard studies and collaborative arts.
Teaching and mentorship are Reger鈥檚 true passions and he鈥檚 worked with some of the top vocal performers and coaches in the country, including at the Minnesota Opera, Indiana Opera Theater, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Ann Arbor Opera. In summer 2014 he was a coach and performer at the Opera Studio de Recife in Brazil.
After traversing the western hemisphere, Reger says the University of Colorado was a natural choice for his next artistic adventure. 鈥淚t鈥檚 in the intersections of many art forms.听How fortunate that we can see all the arts on display, working to create a great artistic community in 麻豆影院.鈥
And of course, you can鈥檛 discount the scenery.
鈥淚 think it will be thrilling to take inspiration from the amazing surroundings in 麻豆影院 to help keep the repertoire passionate and vital.鈥
Reger鈥檚 performance background includes stints with the Virginia Symphony, the Williamsburg听Symphonia and the Cantabile Singers Art Song Project. He holds degrees from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and the University of Michigan.
