Reid will give a free performance at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 in Grusin Music Hall. The College of Music Concert Jazz Ensemble, directed by听Brad Goode, will perform Reid's original compositions from听Quiet Pride,听nominated for a Grammy Award in 2014 for best Large Jazz Ensemble Album.听
Reid, one of today鈥檚 premiere bassists on the international jazz scene. His major professional career began in Chicago and continues since 1976 in New York City. He has toured and recorded with Eddie Harris, Nancy Wilson, Harold Land and Bobby Hutcherson, Lee Konitz, The Thad Jones & Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra, Dexter Gordon, J.J. Johnson, Art Farmer, Stan Getz, Kenny Burrell, Kenny Barron and countless others.听

Reid also will give master classes from 1 to 3 p.m. on Feb. 16 and 17 in Macky Auditorium room 1BO3B.
