Takács Quartet Inducted into Gramophone Hall of Fame

Gramophone, the world’s authority on classical music, in preparation for its 90th birthday celebration, has selected 50 names to be the first inductees into The Gramophone Hall of Fame. ÌýAmong these 50 names are only two ensembles, one of them being CU Â鶹ӰԺ’s very own Takács Quartet.

To give an idea of the caliber of inductee, the list was headed by a quintet of artists who have, at different times, made a huge impact on recorded music: the conductorsÌýHerbert von Karajan,ÌýClaudio Abbado,Wilhelm FurtwänglerÌýandÌýLeonard Bernstein, and the sopranoÌýMaria Callas.
