To celebrate our McNeill graduates and community, we have interviewed graduating students on their experiences at CU 麻豆影院. The first graduate we are introducing for this Senior Spotlight is Eduardo Torres!

How would you describe yourself and what you do?

Eduardo: I would describe myself as a warmhearted person who is always thinking about others first before myself. I am one of the two team leads here in the McNeill office. I feel like I do a bit of everything, but I do most of the Newsflash/newsletter work. That means creating and gathering the information that goes into the newsletter and making sure to send up to date information on the program and CU as a whole. These newsletters are sent out to about 500 students in the program. I help with any of the McNeill coordinators tasks such as event logistics for power hour events. I do a lot of our social media work too, creating posts and stories.

What is your major(s)/minor(s)?

Eduardo: I am a Strategic Communications Major with an emphasis in Advertising and a Minor in Sports Media.

What are your next steps after college?

Eduardo: I will be working with the Colorado Rapids! I am going to get as much experience as I can and finally get into the professional world of sports. I plan on traveling a lot as well and enjoy being done with school.. For now.

Will you go to graduate school or another institution of schooling?

Eduardo: As of right now I am not planning on going to graduate school, but will begin working and getting some experience. However, I am not shutting down the idea of going back to school for masters later in the future.

Are you already working, or have you received a job offer?

Eduardo: Yes, I recently received a job offer from the Colorado Rapids!

How were you engaged on campus during undergrad?

Eduardo: I was enrolled into the McNeill program just as a student, but looked at opportunities like working in the program as well. I joined intramural sports on campus as well like soccer and basketball teams. That helped me connect with people in other majors and ages. I made a lot of my friends through McNeill as I took SASC courses here, so I made sure to attend many McNeill events to connect with people.

How did the McNeill Academic Program help you reach your academic and career goals?

Eduardo: The McNeill Academic Program helped me reach my academic goals by being super flexible with me. All my supervisors and staff put school first, so I never fell behind on school work. It helped me find new resources and use the resources that the program has to offer. Little things like free printing go a long way. The McNeill Academic Program has helped me reach my career goals letting me have some freedom with the work we do here. I have been able to design logos with them, work on social media and marketing projects with the program as well. I was able to get really good work experience with the program and I believe it has helped me get internships and even a job after school.
