McNeill Academic Program Students and Staff

The McNeill Welcome is a community event for students and staff to get to know each other and to meet other people within the SASC community. This year, the theme was 鈥淏ack to the 90鈥檚,鈥 and the event was the best we鈥檝e ever had. 听There was a full taco bar, great guacamole, and even cookies! There were multiple games and prizes for students.

This year鈥檚 event was one of the highest populated that McNeill has had. The majority of students, especially freshmen, were making connections鈥攖alking, laughing, and introducing one another. Almost everyone in the room was wearing something from the 90s, mostly flannel, and there was even one student covered in CDs!

In addition to meeting one another, students also got to explore leadership opportunities that McNeill has to offer; thus, students learned how to become involved into the program. Student leaders hosted tables with information about the IA program, Peer Mentor program, SASC Pre-Health, and other ways to involved McNeill.

听听听听听听听听听听听 I noticed that people approaching the tables were nice, interactive, and sociable. I know this because I was there hosting a table providing students information about SASC Pre-Health since I am currently working as a Pre-Health Student Coordinator. It is very exciting to see students taking interest in the program and to help with any questions students have about entering Pre-Health. Programs in McNeill are great opportunities to provide resources for students on their college journey if they are struggling with classes or face any other challenges in their lives. If you had to miss the Welcome this year, I hope you鈥檒l come next fall. The event听 does a great job supporting students in our learning and experiences, and contributes a sense of belong in the CU community.听听听
