Biography:

Rebecca is a first-generation, non-traditional college student double majoring in Geology and Environmental Studies. She began her academic career at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, VA. While in community college, Rebecca participated in the Research Experience for Community College Students (RECCS) Program, where she examined induced seismicity in Greeley, CO.听Upon completing her Associate of Social Science degree summa cum laude, she received the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship and transferred to the 麻豆影院. She was awarded a fellowship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and plans to attend the Colorado School of Mines for her M.S. in Hydrologic Sciences and Engineering where she鈥檒l study the effects of the Gold King Mine Spill on groundwater in Silverton, CO.听In her spare time, Rebecca likes to read, hike, and attend concerts.听

Her research interests include hydrogeology and geochemistry.听She has participated in research regarding hexavalent chromium contamination in Hinkley, CA, and currently studies baseflow in the Colorado River.
