The Experimental Mathematics Lab is excited to announce a new project that merges mathematics and art: Quantitative Understanding, Imagination, and Learning with Textiles (that鈥檚 QUILT, for short). Participants will work together to create quilts that visually represent mathematical ideas such as symmetry, tessellations, algebraic structures, and more.

Who Can Join:
- Students and faculty from all disciplines with an interest in mathematics, art, or both.
- No quilting experience required鈥攚e will teach you!
听
What You始ll Do:
- Learn basic quilting techniques.
- Contribute to the creation of a quilt that will be publicly displayed.
- Collaborate on designing quilt patterns based on mathematical structures or concepts.
听
Why Join:
- Gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts through visual and tactile means.
- Help showcase the intersection of mathematics and art to the broader community.

How to Get Involved:
Just show up! We meet on听Friday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:00 in MATH 350 starting on September 13. Newcomers are welcome anytime throughout the semester. Not available right at 3:30? No problem鈥攄rop by whenever you can! We hope to see you there.
