Dr. Susan Brown, senior research associate, instructor of computational Linguistics courses and associate聽director of the CLASIC program, has been聽chosen by CU's Graduate School as a winner of the 2021-2022 Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award.聽Reflecting on this honor, Dr. Brown says, "I love my job, and I'm so glad it has evolved to include mentoring students. Helping them get the most out of their time at CU and watching them develop personally really gives me a lot of joy."聽Dr. Brown鈥檚 teaching, and the mentorship that she provides to graduate students plotting a career in聽linguistics, computational linguistics and/or data science, is an asset to CU. Her聽dedication to Linguistics and to the CLASIC program have helped make CU Linguistics one of the聽best places in the country to study computational and corpus linguistics. Dr. Brown鈥檚 students know聽how lucky they are to have access to her unique constellation of pedagogical and intellectual gifts. The Department of Linguistics congratulates her and聽feels she is deeply deserving of this recognition.
