Michele D. Simpson is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Philosophy, Arts & Culture Residential Academic Program (RAP).听 She is also an affiliate faculty member of the Student Academic Success Center, the Honors RAP, the Program for Excellence in Academics, and Community, the Center for African & African American Studies, and is newly affiliated with the Creative Minds RAP.

Her courses reflect her passion and commitment to topics including anti-Blackness, anti-racism, the law, and justice.听 Michele鈥檚 educational ethos is founded on the idea that it is imperative to engage students in exploring and identifying how to live more fully and compassionately in the world.听 Her recent course offerings have included:听 Gender, Race, Class & Crime, Gender, Race, Sexuality & Popular Culture, Women, Literature & the Arts, Ethical Puzzles & Moral Conflicts, and Sacred Spaces.听 Michele is honored to have been a recipient of the 麻豆影院 Faculty Assembly鈥檚 2023 Excellence in Teaching Award

As a Ren茅e Crown Wellness Institute鈥檚 Affiliate Faculty and Research Associate, she helps to direct the Mindful Campus Program and facilitates an 8-week mindfulness course offered to CU undergraduates.听 Moreover, Michele is the principal investigator of Girls Like Us, a program/research study that aims to co-design, evaluate, and implement mindfulness, movement, and wellness programming for Black adolescent girls.

Currently, Michele is the host and producer of Black Talk, a co-creation of the 麻豆影院 County NAACP and 麻豆影院 Public Radio鈥檚 KGNU 88.5 FM.听 Black Talk centers on Black voices, thought, and vision.
