WHAT? Change the theater shooting trial NOW?

COMMENTARY, NO BYLINE

No. Think again.

This afternoon the judge in the #theatershootingtrial denied a last-minute gasp by #James Holmes’ attorneys for a change of venue. Usually reading motions and files on the Colorado Judicial website is tedious, but Judge Carlos Samour has a sense of humor, which actually makes me kind of look forward to reading his rulings. He explained that no matter where the trial is held in Colorado, we’re not going to find anyone who hasn’t heard about the Batman movie shooting. It would, Samour wryly wrote “be as useful as installing a screen door on a submarine.”

Call THAT the quote of the day.

But I can’t let you go without filling you in on this colorful passage also by Samour?

The Court predicts that because of “warp speed” of information dissemination, before long, the United States Supreme Court will rule that change of venue requests in high-profile cases like this one will “go the way of the dinosaurs.”
