Christine Macdonald, Senior Instructor in the Program for Writing and Rhetoric, has enjoyed teaching in Honors RAP since 2008.聽 Outside of Honors RAP she teaches a service-learning course in Grant Writing in which students write grants for local nonprofits, and an Academic Proposal Writing course in which students write UROP grants in support of their academic research.聽 In addition to helping students craft analytical writing assignments, she enjoys the outdoors through hiking and gardening.聽 As an undergraduate she studied for a semester in Madrid, Spain, and hopes to take the family traveling more frequently before the kids leave for college.聽 Her dearest travel wish is to journey across the globe to Australia.
聽 聽 With an interest in nineteenth-century American Literature, in her dissertation she explored the law and literature of slavery, linking her interdisciplinary study through the concept of jurisdiction; she will gladly regale you with fascinating details from this project if you ask.聽 Her current projects include writing children鈥檚 picture books and she is also hard at work on an historical novel set within the Civil War.
