FAQs
COVID-19 testing is available to students at Wardenburg Health Center.
CU offers several tests for diagnosis and management.ÌýThis is a decision a provider would make based upon the clinical presentation of the patient. The antigen test has a turn-around time of approximately one hour. The PCR test has a turn-around time of approximately 24 hours. Depending upon the case, a provider might order both tests.
Generally, as perÌýCDPHE andÌýCDC criteria regarding testing, a student should get tested if they are symptomatic and/or has been in close contact with someone who is ill with COVID.Ìý
While many chapters have called hotels about the possibility for members to isolate or quarantine, this is not a possibility at this time.
If a student tests positive, isolation should be considered based on the following factors: do they have a private bedroom and bathroom, do they have a space locally where they could isolate easily and with access to resources. If it is determined that there is not a space in their current living situation, off-campus students can connect with Health & Wellness Administrative Services. Limited resources may be available to support.
It is also important to note that on-campus housing will not be available for quarantine or isolation for off-campus residents. In the event that students are not able to travel home or to utilize area hotels, the following options could be explored:
- Airbnb
- Local relatives or friends
- Local alumni
- Hotel options outside of the city of Â鶹ӰԺ
Chapters also could work with members who do not live in the facility who would be willing to temporarily move into the chapter facility while positive cases isolate in off campus locations.
At this time, on-campus isolation/quarantine space is limited to residents who live university housing. Because area hospitals are limited in size and resources, this is not an option at this time.
