Wellness Series: Understanding Stress & Anxiety in Grad School – Nov. 3 @ 12-1 p.m. via Zoom
Feeling burnt out and overwhelmed as we approach the end of the semester? Take a deep breath and join us for this wellness workshop. Understand the difference between stress and anxiety in graduate school, while learning helpful management strategies. Mindfulness techniques will be included. We will also explore the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, which include physical, emotional, spiritual, occupational, intellectual, social, financial, and environmental wellness. Carve out an hour for some self-care and join us for this session. .
Grad+ Alignment Series – Nov. 9 and 10 @ 12-1:30 p.m. via Zoom
Achieving alignment is important because it allows us to make good long-term lifestyle decisions in our personal and professional lives. Please join Leslie Blood, PhD, director of graduate community and program development, for this two-part alignment series, which will include discussions about values, motivation, drive and accountability.
Proposal Writing: Sustaining Your Argument – Nov. 9 @ 12-1 p.m. via Zoom
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is pleased to present this Proposal Writing session: Sustaining Your Argument. Take advantage of opportunities to remind the reviewer of the value of your project. In this session we’ll discuss where these opportunities arise throughout the proposal writing process, and how to use them. Jim Mazzouccolo, proposal editor & writing coach for the Research & Innovation Office (RIO), will discuss key strategies and practices to enhance your proposal’s competitiveness. Open to postdocs and graduate students.
GradCO: Informational Interviewing – Nov. 16 @ 12:30-2 p.m. via Zoom
Is that job really the one you want? What's in it beyond the job posting? This information is often best obtained through an informational interview. But, how do you get one of those? And what is it really? This workshop will help you: learn how informational interviewing can help you make career decisions, understand how to find and conduct an interview, develop your career story, build confidence in your ability to use this career tool, etc. This workshop is hosted by University of Colorado - Anschutz and is being shared with other institutions across Colorado as part of the GradCO Professional Development Series.

Join Kristina Quynn, Graduate School assistant dean, for this workshop that will discuss leadership models, and how to lead from where you are. This workshop is hosted by Colorado State University - Ft. Collins and is being shared with other institutions across Colorado as part of the GradCO Professional Development Series.
Graduation Deadlines
November 10, 2022
- Doctoral students must complete the PhD dissertation defense or final examination by this date. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School using the doctoral final examination form two weeks before the exam.
November 17, 2022
- PhD students must submit the dissertation with Thesis Approval Form to ProQuest by this deadline. The dissertation must be for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The Thesis Approval Form (TAF) must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement.
- PhD and DMA students must fill out the by this deadline. .
November 17, 2022
- Master's students must complete the thesis defense or final examination by this date. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School using the master's final examination form two weeks before the exam. Certain units do not require an exam for non-thesis students. Please contact your department with any questions.
November 21, 2022
- Doctoral student grade changes must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous or current semesters.
November 30, 2022
