Elena Sánchez Nicolás covers institutional affairs, climate change, energy and tech policy for EUobserver. Before joining EUobserver, she worked on European affairs at the Brussels-based think tank VoteWatch Europe and the Spanish news agency EFE.

Based in Brussels, she is originally from Spain and serves as the acting president for the Association of European Journalists Belgium. Sánchez Nicolás holds a master’s degree in new media and society in Europe from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) and a master’s in transmedia journalism from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in Madrid.Ìý
