Julia Hicks has been selected to receive a 2016-17 Graduate School Dissertation Completion Fellowship. This fellowship provides on semester of full support during the 2016-17 academic year.

The Colorado Mountain Club Foundation awarded Julia the Neal Kindig Fellowship for 2015. She will use the fellowship to support her research examining the importance of American three-toed woodpeckers as disturbance specialists in Colorado. Julia will use a combination of GIS and field research to determine if spruce beetle outbreaks...

Julia has received a Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement award from the National Science Foundation. This grant will support her research on "Avian Community Response to Broad-Scale Ecological Disturbances Across Spruce-Fir Forests".
