Ian Rowen Receives EAPSI Grant

Ian was awarded an EAPSI (East Asia Pacific Summer Institute) from the National Science Foundation. The award covers travel and living expenses, plus $5000 stipend. Ian will use the funds for research on Chinese tourists this summer in Taiwan, while affiliated with host researchers.

Caitlin Ryan Receives ARISC Fellowship

The $1500 graduate fellowship was awarded by the American Research Institute of the South Caucasus. Caitlin will use this fellowship to support her research on “State Formation and Property Relations in Georgia: A Case Study of IDP Housing".

Chris Anderson-Tarver Receives the CaGIS Doctoral Scholarship Award

This $1000 scholarship recognizes academic achievement and encourages continuing success in outstanding cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), and geographic information science (GIScience). The scholarship also recognizes achievement or potential for achievement in original research advancing the specific disciplines of cartography or GIScience.

Preston Cumming Receives UGGS Travel Grant

Meagan was awarded a 2012-2013 American Councils Advanced Research Fellowship, funded by the U.S. Department of State, Title VIII Program for Research and Training on Eastern Europe and Eurasia (Independent States of the Former Soviet Union). Megan will use the fellowship to fund her research on mosque construction in Moscow.
