Kate Carlson (2nd year MA grad student) was awarded a $1,000 scholarship by GIS in the Rockies, the Rocky Mountain West region's premier organization of geospatial professionals in agency and industry in the eight-state region (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico). The scholarship is highly competitive with only one award offered to students enrolled in colleges and universities. Kate's successful application was based on thesis research developing an open-source software tool to support visualization and quantification of spatial and temporal wetlands uncertainty. Kate presented her thesis research at the GIS in the Rockies conference held virtually on October 7, 2020.
