The story is about a reality TV show in Tanzania that showcases women鈥檚 empowerment. Goldman鈥檚 paper, written together with Jani Little (CU-麻豆影院, IBS), is cited in the final paragraph of the story:

"What Kibona is referring to鈥斺渆mpowerment鈥濃攊s exceedingly difficult to define and measure. In a recent paper on NGO work in northern Tanzania, Mara J. Goldman and Jani S. Little took a stab at articulating the meaning of the term: 鈥淎 process where, with resources and through agency, choices are made by those normally not in a position to do so in a given situation.鈥 By this definition, Female Food Heroes isn鈥檛 so much a vehicle for change. It鈥檚 an incubator for what that change might eventually look like.
