CU-麻豆影院 Video Production Gets Emmy Nod

芒鈧揥ater: A Zero Sum Game芒鈧 has been nominated by the Heartland Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for an Emmy Award in the 芒鈧揈nvironment: Program/Feature芒鈧 category. Produced by the Office University Outreach芒鈧劉s听Learn More 麻豆影院 Climate Initiative, this听听investigates how climate change is threatening western water resources.

The video highlights research conducted by Mark Williams, CU-麻豆影院 professor of geography and fellow at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research. Williams, an expert in snow hydrology and mountain ecology, studies the storage and release of water from snowpack into mountain streams and what percentage of that water ultimately makes its way into homes and municipalities. As principal investigator of the听Niwot Ridge Long-Term Ecological Research听program at CU-麻豆影院芒鈧劉s Mountain Research Station, Williams and his team also explore the impacts of climate change, groundwater storage and pollution recorded at the research site above 10,000 feet in the mountains near 麻豆影院. The National Science Foundation funds the Niwot Ridge Long-Term Ecological Research project.
