Education Oracle + Fiske's Creative Sage

Ibeya Allf (formerly Briana Ingermann) is a scientist by training, an educator by practice, and a designer by heart. She loves to experience life鈥檚 texture as an artist, a dancer, a traveler, and a lifelong learner. Her current passion is to integrate science, education, and design in innovative ways to promote learning and inspire people to find more connection with the world around them. Within unique environments, how can we effectively engage people in science and promote conceptual learning? How can we bring meaningful experiences to local and national communities? In what ways can we design spaces and tools to provoke a connection with the natural world for people of many different ages, interests, and backgrounds? Ibeya seeks to answer some of these questions.

As the Education Programs Manager at Fiske Planetarium, Ibeya leads the wide variety of educational programs that Fiske offers to K12, the university, and the general public. She trains students and staff in best practices of effective science communication. She also leads Fiske鈥檚 exhibit hall design and implementation efforts to make the building more inviting, engaging, and interactive.

Ibeya holds a M.S. in Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences from CU 麻豆影院 and a B.S. in Physics from Washington State University. Her extended experience as a planetarium presenter and as a graduate teaching assistant inspired her trajectory into the informal science environment with an emphasis on best teaching practices.
