Jieqiu聽Shao (Jay)聽is a pursuing a PhD聽in Electrical Engineering under my supervision, after completing聽his MS聽in Mechanical Engineering聽at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa in 2018.
Jay's MS聽thesis, which now continues as his聽PhD聽project, focuses on the聽Control of Optical Atomic Lattices for Quantum Inertial Sensing. Along the way, Jay was the primary catalyst for聽Q-PRONTO, which is an extremely successful聽byproduct of a class project he worked on with Prof.聽聽and has, since then,聽flourished beyond expectations.聽
Jay graduated in May 2024 and received the Best Thesis Award from the ECEE Department in recognition of the high-risk, high-reward journey he embarked on over the course of his PhD. Jay will continue his work on developing聽optimal control laws for quantum sensing applications in his new role as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at .
