Campus facilities standards assist architects, engineers, other design professionals and contractors in understanding the university's requirements. These standards represent what is unique about construction on the campus and consider the total cost of ownership. The design professional must follow industry best practices in all areas not covered by these standards.ÌýÌý These standards are not specifications.ÌýDesign professionals must familiarize themselves with the standards and incorporate them into project-specific documents and specifications.
In the rare situation where a deviation from the standard is necessary, the design professional should submit a written request for variance to the campus. The Facilities Standards Committee will determine approval of the deviation request.
