Lab manager Dorothy Noble received the Challenge Coin Award from CU �鶹ӰԺ’s Department of Environmental Health and Safety, in recognition for her attention to safety, regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) in all environmental engineering labs, while also being exceptional at day-to-day lab operations.

Results from a new voluntary survey of private drinking water quality on the Western Slope through a partnership between CU �鶹ӰԺ, Delta County and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are available online now.

A team of researchers led by Professor Evan Thomas, director of the Mortenson Center in Global Engineering, has been awarded a three-year, $660,000 grant by NASA to join the SERVIR Applied Sciences Team, a joint venture between NASA and the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Professor Mark Hernandez and Patricia Keady, CEO of Fort Collins-based Aerosol Devices, recently received a $898,347 grant from the National Science Foundation that will help them take the next step in their aerobiology research.

Richard Kuchenrither was one of 15 water professionals to be recognized by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) with the 2019 WEF Fellows for Contribution to Water Profession.

Marina Vance, an environmental engineer at the University of Colorado at �鶹ӰԺ, and her team carried out a study in a manufactured house in Austin, Texas, that examined particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, microbes and other materials. The researchers looked at how cooking, cleaning, human occupancy and use of personal care products affected air quality.
