Gilbert TrejoChief Technical Officer, El Paso Water

Gilbert Trejo has over 17 years of engineering, business development and utility management in the water sector. As Chief Technical Officer for El Paso Water, he leads all engineering, planning and development and project and construction management for the utility. Prior to joining El Paso Water, he was the principal in charge for a national engineering consulting firm in the El Paso region. Trejo is an expert and published author on water infrastructure and water reuse. He serves as President of the WateReuse Association and has been instrumental in efforts to implement and gain public acceptance for water reuse projects across the United States.听 He also serves on the board of directors for the Water Research Foundation and the Rio Grande Citizens Forum Board of directors for the International Boundary and Water Commission.

Trejo earned a Bachelor鈥檚 of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master鈥檚 of Science in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.
