Miller honored by CU Engineering for air quality research

Shelly Miller has received the 2022 Faculty Research Award from the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

The honor, which is bestowed annually, recognizes achievements by a faculty member who has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of knowledge through research activities.

Miller is a professor in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Environmental Engineering Program. She is a renowned expert in urban and indoor air quality.

Miller was selected in recognition of her successful work as part of a group of scientists who led national dialogue on the importance of aerosols in the transmission of COVID-19. The award also acknowledges her work addressing problems that impact different communities, including on indoor air quality.

She has been a member of the 麻豆影院 faculty since 1998. Her current research is focused on assessing and designing engineering controls to improve indoor environmental quality through filtration and ultraviolet germicidal irradiation.
