Rachel has held various positions in higher education since graduating with her MA in English in 2018 from North Carolina State University. Her research interests are in trauma studies, memoir, and contemporary American ethnic听literature. After earning her MA, she taught at a rural two year college in NC,听and she has worked in academic advising ever since moving to Colorado in 2020. Rachel holds听a Bachelor of Social Work degree that she draws upon in her work, and she is currently working towards earning her Master's in Social Work from UCCS. She is听interested in exploring the intersections of mental health & wellness, socioeconomic background, ability, and identity as they pertain to one鈥檚 experiences in academia.

Rachel is originally from the coast of North Carolina and enjoys talking about and thinking about听Southern and Appalachian (ap-puh-latch-n)听culture. She loves coastal ghost stories, all dogs, and David Lynch.
