Josalyn Monahan (she/they) is an MA in Literature student at the 麻豆影院. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2021 with a BFA in Creative Writing concentrating in poetry, as well as an English major concentrating in creative nonfiction.
She was president of the UNO Writing Club, Lead Creative Nonfiction Genre Editor for听13th Floor Magazine, a Senior Writing Consultant at the UNO Writing Center, and a two-time recipient of the John J. McKenna Undergraduate Scholarship for Creative Nonfiction. She has been published in听Roadrunner Review, as well as by Poets鈥� Choice, High Shelf Press, and more.听
Josalyn鈥檚 interests include Gothic, environmental, and feminist literature, and contemporary creative nonfiction and poetry, which she hopes to explore further at CU. Her goal is to become an English educator at a community college or with a non-profit.
Outside of school, Josalyn works full-time as a Content Editor for Hurrdat, a multi-media digital marketing agency, and spends her free time gaming with her husband, hiking, showing people pictures of her dog, baking, and half-learning songs on her ukulele. She also writes creative nonfiction and poetry, often incorporating imagery from her home state, Nebraska.
