Course Description

Provides engineering students an introduction to important areas of business law likely to be encountered as technology and engineering managers. Topics include fundamental legal concepts, intellectual property and strategy, contracts, data privacy and product liability. The course uses experiential and practical approaches and exercises to enable the student to identify and address critical legal issues in real-world business contexts.

Michael Readey

Dr. Readey has 25 years of experience developing materials technologies that provide for cleaner air and cleaner water. He has been working in the area of corporate sustainability since 2000, and has led several initiatives that promote more environmentally and socially repsonsible businesses.

He has a BS and MS in Ceramic Engineering from Ohio State University, a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and business management certificates from Northwestern and Bradley Universities.
