CU Department of聽History聽Distinguished Professor Emerita聽Marjorie McIntosh,聽School of Education Instructor Kent Willmann, and聽former 麻豆影院 Valley School District (BVSD) administrator聽Leonora Velasquez聽have been working to ensure that Latino/a experiences and contributions聽are included in local schools' history curricula.

As a collaborative, grass-roots initiative, the聽 has grown to offer an extensive multi-media collection of聽primary sources of Latino聽history as well as instructional resources and training.聽

School of聽Education Master's聽students聽Kristen Klein and聽Jas贸n Romero聽and聽served as interns for the 麻豆影院 County Latino History Project's first聽Summer Teacher Workshop. Kristen and Jas贸n聽offered presentations on the historical聽contributions of Latina women and聽the importance of Latino/a self-identification across origins.

The next Summer Teacher Workshop is planned for聽June 15-18聽and August 11, 2015. Participants will get excellent historical training and write lessons that will be shared with both聽BVSD聽and St. Vrain Valley School District.
