Â鶹ӰԺ artist commissioned for 70th CWA painting
Local artist and architect, was commissioned to create a painting in celebration of the Conference on World Affairs 70th year in Â鶹ӰԺ, Colorado. Austin's art is colorful, eccentric, and enthralling and his eclectic style seemed like a perfect fit to represent an event that is limitless in it's interpretations. Austin's favorite conference events are the performances with artists sharing their medium in a multitude of ways: music, storytelling, and dance.
The CWA is honored that Austin agreed to commemorate the 70th year of the event in Â鶹ӰԺ by creating this painting, which represents so much of the the CWA's history and future, appropriately titled, Our Roots Are Showing. The painting also represents this year's core themes: Leadership: In the Words of Women, Feeding the Future, and People and the Planet.
The painting is available for sale during CWA week, it will be on display in Macky Audtorium for public viewing. The artist has generously volunteered to donate proceeds of the sale to the CWA. For more information about the painting email cwapress@colorado.edu.
A limited number of poster prints will be available for sale at the CWA Bookstore in the foyer of Macky Auditorium during CWA week.Â
