Research interests:
Insect systematics, taxonomy
Phylogenetics
Biodiversity
My research focuses on how insects, particularly butterflies and moths, evolved. I am especially interested in how moths evolved to feed on certain plants, and what roles they play in the environment. Insect collections are fundamental to understanding insect biology, classification, ecology, and even conservation, and as such in my role of Curator I leverage CU's insect collection and those of a global array of collaborators to tap the vast scientific resources that they preserve.
