Graduate Research Assistant • OASIS

Mateo Chavez graduated with a B.S. and an M.S. in psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His master's thesis work examined shortening and improving interventions for social anxiety to improve treatment accessibility. Mateo will be working as a Graduate Research Assistant on the OASIS Team. His research interests include the clinical application mindfulness techniques and therapies, brief/single-session intervention work, and increasing accessibility to treatments for marginalized identities, and particularly, their research aims to investigate how those with intersectional minority identities and social anxiety can be best treated in evidence-based practices.
