GASB 96 account codes for IT subscriptions
GASB 96 provided new accounting guidelines for subscription agreements to use a third party鈥檚 IT resource, e.g. software, platform, or server, for a defined period of time. In fiscal year 2024, the Campus Controller鈥檚 Office will monitor the general ledger for any new GASB 96 agreements.
In order to facilitate this review, please use the following accounts when purchasing IT subscriptions:

Agreements for IT services or maintenance only or for an IT component that we are not getting from that vendor are excluded from GASB 96. Please use the following accounts for these types of agreements:
