Staff appreciation meals are infrequent official functions that are hosted and attended by the head of an organizational unit. They occur for the purpose of showing appreciation for a group of staff members.
The following must be adhered to for the event to be considered a staff appreciation meal:
- The meal does not include additional recognition awards (prizes or rewards). The presence of these would require the Employee Recognition Event guidelines to be followed.
- Official Function policies and procedures must be followed, this includes the procedures related to the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
