Professional golfer聽Emily Talley聽(Comm) played on the LPGA鈥檚 Symetra Tour this year. She and her boyfriend, CU skier聽Andreas Hoye聽(Acct, Fin鈥�14), planned to move to Norway during the offseason.

With his CU entrepreneurial training and experience with the Deming Center Venture Fund, a capital investment account operated by CU-麻豆影院 graduate students,聽Matt Reisman聽(MBA, MEnvSt) launched Rachio, a Denver-based startup firm focused on water conservation through smart irrigation systems. Matt lives in Superior, Colo.

Alexa Campos聽(Psych鈥�12) was promoted to assistant manager of the sales and marketing firm Active Synergy in Aurora, Colo., where she oversees a team of more than 15 people. Alexa has been with the company since June 2012.

As executive director and founder of the Mountain Flower Dairy, an urban goat dairy, in 麻豆影院,聽Taber Ward(Law鈥�12) oversees the organization鈥檚 daily operations, employee supervision, herd health, education programs and more. Mountain Flower aims to generate awareness of sustainable agriculture among 麻豆影院 citizens.

Jordan Darrington聽(Fin鈥�12) and聽Emily Lindquist Darrington聽(Engl鈥�12) moved to New Jersey last year. On July 15, they welcomed future Buff Jackson Lee Darrington into their family. The healthy baby boy was 9 pounds, 2 ounces, and 21 inches long. Jordan works for OppenheimerFunds as an equity and fixed income trading assistant in the company鈥檚 New York City office. Emily writes that she is blessed to be able to stay home with Jackson.

Rachel Dubrovin聽(Jour鈥�12) and聽Morgan Aguilar聽(Jour鈥�13) both work for KLEW News, the CBS affiliate in Lewiston, Idaho. Rachel is the Palouse bureau reporter and Morgan produces all three KLEW newscasts and anchors the 11 p.m. newscast.

In 2013 700 young professionals applied for the fellowship program 鈥淐hallenge Detroit.鈥澛�Anna Balzer聽(EnvSt鈥�12) was one of 30 selected. The yearlong fellowship is designed to attract and retain top, young talent to the city of Detroit. Through the program, its initiators hope to educate and form the city鈥檚 leaders of tomorrow.

In January the band released its first full-length album, 鈥淟et Me Shine.鈥�

PM Environmental welcomed Challenge Detroit fellow聽Anna Balzer聽(EnvSt鈥�12) to its team as a research consultant for the national due diligence group. Challenge Detroit is an urban revitalization project that brings innovative leaders to the city to live, work, play and be leaders in the community. In addition to working at PM, Anna will work with nonprofit organizations throughout the year to help with multimodal transportation, homelessness and community development.

On June 22, 2013,聽Katie Sandven聽(Econ鈥�12) and Zachary Bren were married in Denver. Katie works as a pension specialist at Nationwide Financial. The couple lives in Columbus, Ohio, with their son.

Rachio, founded by聽Matthew Reisman聽(MEnvSt, MBA鈥�12), is a Denver-based technology startup that makes it easy and affordable for homeowners to have beautiful, productive and resource-optimized landscapes. Rachio was selected as a finalist in the Colorado Innovation Network Innovation Challenge. Matthew lives in Superior, Colo.

Jazz musician and CU-麻豆影院 educator聽Jon Kohne聽(MMus鈥�12) opened Old Town Music Studio in Longmont, Colo. Jon offers private and group lessons to people of all ages and levels, specializing in piano, guitar, music composition and music theory.

Shagun Pawar聽(Psych, Soc鈥�12) moved to Oregon for graduate school as a stepping stone to receiving her doctorate in clinical psychology. Shagun writes she misses CU, but she is looking forward to the adventures that lie before her.

Since graduating聽Monica Gauthier聽(Art鈥�12) has started her first business endeavor called Activyst, a company that creates women鈥檚 athletic bags and supports girls鈥� sports programs in developing countries. Monica writes when girls play sports, they are healthier, more educated and happier, which then benefits their communities. One of her business partners worked on this issue with the World Health Organization in Nicaragua. Monica lives in Longmont, Colo.

Erika started her course work in June and plans to finish her graduate degree in three years. She plans to pursue a doctorate in public health. Erika lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Following his May commission with the U.S. Marine Corps聽Steven Gore聽(CivEngr鈥�12) will head to basic school training in January 2013. In the meantime he has traveled to England to visit family and will go to Peru to see Machu Picchu, Wyoming to climb and Nepal to hike near Annapurna.

Accomplishing his dream of moving back to California after graduating CU,聽Esteban Hernandez聽(Jour鈥�12) relocated to Los Angeles this summer. He blogs for the web show 鈥淲hat鈥檚 Trending鈥� in Hollywood, covering pop culture news.

Cassandra Hickman聽(Jour鈥�12) is a fifth-generation graduate of CU. Her great-great-grandmother, great-grandparents, grandparents and father graduated from the university. Cassandra writes that the count for graduating members of their family thus far is 23. She lives in 麻豆影院.
