Patrick L. Hamilton (PhDEngl鈥06) is a professor of English at Misericordia University and recently published George P茅rez, a biography of the legendary Bronze Age of Comics comic book creator who contributed to classic titles such as Fantastic Four and The Avengers. Hamilton鈥檚 book, published by the University Press of Mississippi, examines why Pe虂rez鈥檚 contributions to comic art and history have not been fully acknowledged, analyzing Pe虂rez鈥檚 work for its representations of race, disability and gender.

Last fall, CT Charlton (Mgmt鈥06) was named to the Crain鈥檚 Detroit Business 鈥40 Under 40鈥 list. CT is in his third year as the president of Charlton, a global sales liaison for manufacturers that supply products for some of the world鈥檚 largest automotive groups. CT left a career in finance to join Charlton in 2011, and was responsible for starting the organization鈥檚 industrial division. CT held roles in Chicago and Seattle before moving to the Detroit area in 2020.

In this role, Villegas leads an award-winning newsroom and a group of reporters and editors who cover the entire state of Colorado. Andrew joined CPR in 2019, bringing more than a decade of experience as a reporter and editor for news outlets across the country.

Saginaw Valley State University professor Tami Sivy (PhDChem鈥06) was honored with the 2021 Distinguished Professor of the Year Award. This award recognizes outstanding efforts in undergraduate education by faculty at Michigan public universities. Tami began working at SVSU in 2008 and has served as department chair since 2015. Tami teaches classes at every level, is responsible for the entire upper-level biochemistry curriculum and has mentored more than 50 SVSU students in laboratory research. She was involved in the development of the SVSU Sustainability Center鈥檚 curriculum, and has mentored many local high school teachers and students in environmental research projects. Additionally, her research on water quality has been used to help determine beach closings in Bay County and to detect COVID-19 levels in wastewater.

Jenny Trumble (Arch鈥06) was promoted to associate at CCY Architects, where she started in 2013 as a designer. Jenny has worked on residential and resort community projects in several locations, including Aspen and Telluride Colorado, La Quinta in California and in China. Her projects have won several awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and she received the International Architecture Award for a project in Aspen. Jenny serves on AIA Colorado鈥檚 practice and design conference committee and the arts and culture board for the City of Glenwood Springs. In October 2021, Jenny spoke at CU Denver鈥檚 School of Architecture and Planning.

Nicholas Sandoval (ChemEngr), assistant professor of chemistry and biomolecular engineering at Tulane University, was awarded a National Science Foundation Career Award of $500,000 to develop new tools and techniques for studying Clostridium, a genus of bacteria. Nicholas leads a research group with four graduate students and one postdoctoral researcher. He writes that his research falls generally in the field of synthetic biology and metabolic engineering.

Amanda Menihan聽(MEdu) won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching from the National Science Foundation and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She聽also received a $10,000 NSF award. Amanda teaches seventh-grade math at Altona Middle School in Longmont, Colo., where she resides with her husband and two children.

Kyle Redfield (Econ) is CEO and president of KonaRed Corporation, a premier Hawaiian coffee brand.聽In 2017, Kyle launched聽the company鈥檚 first line聽of ready-to-drink cold brew coffees. He leads product development to find sustainable ways to use the coffee fruit, which surrounds the coffee bean and is usually discarded聽in the coffee making process. Kevin Walsh聽(Psych) joined the firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck in the litigation department, based in Denver. In his practice, Kevin specializes in construction law and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Brownstein, Kevin was an associate principal at The Holt Group, LLC, where he provided legal services聽to general contractors, design builders, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, private owners and governmental entities. He serves as an adjunct professor at CU鈥檚 College of Engineering & Applied Sciences, where he teaches a course on the legal aspects of construction.
