They鈥檙e an eclectic bunch of hit-makers, and all Buffs: Glenn Miller (A&S ex鈥26; HonDocHum鈥84), Matt Stone (Art, Math鈥93), Trey Parker (A&S ex鈥93), Big Head Todd and the Monsters.

When CU 麻豆影院 Next rolls into Denver and San Francisco in early 2019, their work will come alive in sound.

鈥淭hese artists each put their own unique Buff stamp on their compositions,鈥 said CU theater professor Bud Coleman, who鈥檚 directing a musical tribute to alumni entertainers at the CU-centered evening fetes.聽

CU 麻豆影院 Next distills the dynamism of the Buffs community for alumni and friends in major cities around the country. The program opened last year in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Future stops include New York, Houston and Chicago.聽

In Denver and San Francisco, CU students will perform a variety of musical tributes, including a song from Stone and Parker鈥檚 Broadway hit The Book of Mormon, Big Head Todd鈥檚 鈥淏lue Sky鈥 and a piece by Grammy-winning musician Dave Grusin (惭耻蝉鈥56).

Students, alumni and some of CU鈥檚 most renowned and engaging professors 鈥 including Nobel laureates Tom Cech and Eric Cornell, traumatic brain industry expert Theresa Hern谩ndez and political scientist (and baseball historian) Tom Zeiler 鈥 will deliver a series of snappy TED-Talk-style presentations.

鈥淭his is an opportunity to experience the groundbreaking work happening on campus, even if you don鈥檛 live close to 麻豆影院,鈥 said Ryan Chreist, executive director of the Alumni Association.聽

CU 麻豆影院 Next comes to the Sheraton Downtown Denver Thursday, Jan. 31, and to the City View at Metreon in San Francisco Thursday, Feb. 21. Both events start at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include drinks and heavy hors d鈥檕euvres.
